2026 MBSEF DH/Enduro Cycling Team

The MBSEF DH/Enduro Team is for experienced riders only.  We will primarily be riding the bike park at Mt. Bachelor during the summer and fall.  When the bike park is not open, we will focus on riding more enduro-style trails out of the Wanoga complex or doing laps on trails like Whoops and Royal Flush.  The goal of the team will be to prepare athletes for downhill and enduro races throughout the region.  All athletes must have a full suspension enduro or downhill bike and their own protection gear.  This team is open to ages 10-15.

2025 September After School Mountain Biking

Fall Elementary Adventure Groms Sessions will be on Wednesdays September 10, 17, 24, October 1, from 1:45-4pm.

Our MS/HS Mountain Bike program continues to build cycling skills in our older (ages 12 and up) cyclists while focusing on seeking adventure within our local trail system, maintaining and further developing fitness, and having fun with coaches and peers. Look forward to cornering, pumping and some jumping clinics!

This fall series will also take a little time before rides for stretching, warm-ups and bike safety checks, and will spend some time toward the end of sessions–especially later in the series run–to support riders with basic home maintenance of their mountain bikes.

2025 Intro to Cyclocross

CYCLOCROSS is an autumn cycling tradition with a fun, community-oriented, almost festival-like atmosphere and one of the most FUN and accessible ways for bicyclists–of all ages and abilities–to participate in local and regional bicycle racing. It is easily practiced on cyclocross or gravel bikes or cross-country style mountain bikes. Races are held on short (less than 1 mile) closed courses (no cars or people) on mixed terrain (combinations of pavement, dirt, grass & mud) designed to be challenging and fun, occasionally requiring riders to dismount and carry their bike over barriers, up steep hills or up short flights of stairs. They offer participants a quick and challenging opportunity to test their fitness and bike handling skills with friends.

These Tuesday clinics will meet at MBSEF’s Bill Healy Training Center and utilize nearby Discovery Park and the lower Phils Trails area for cyclocross specific skills coaching before returning to MBSEF. They are intended to support riders’ participation in the local Wednesday night Thrilla Cyclocross Series, hosted at Athletic Club of Bend, where racing will be free with donations encouraged. Race registration is managed through OBRA.org or on-site on event days, where cyclocross, gravel and mountain bikes will also be welcomed.

Clinic participants can look forward to the following topics…
Brief history and stories about this bicycle racing discipline and tradition
 Bicycle selection and setup
 Apparel selection recommendations
 Where to train and practice
How to fuel for these events
 Pedaling, shifting and braking instruction
Riding in grass, gravel, sand and mud
 Line choice
 Carrying speed
 Cornering and drifting
 Dismounts
Running with and carrying the bike
